Diversity in Design
Craftspeople hold strong and typically narrow opinions about their craft.
While essential in creative practice, these opinions become somewhat redundant in a broader context. Such perspectives often relate to subjective (and perhaps superficial) characteristics such as aesthetics yet are ultimately just indicative of traditional craft principles.
But no single design or style is categorically correct, suggesting that craft and design needs diversity. In fact, creative diversity is essential. It is a deep richness and can be a wealth of inspiration, if only we could pause our own personal biases.
